2nd PPIP meeting, AIDE (Japan)

The 2nd Patient and Public Involvement Panel (PPIP) meeting for AIDE (Japan) project was held on the 25th February from 20:00 to 21:30.

10 PPIP members participated and 7 researchers. We used an online post-it software to have a discussion in three groups about the expectations and concerns that PPIP members have about the increasing use of AI in health care.

PPIP members, who are patients, family members of patients and regular members of the public, expressed many different ideas during the group discussion about their expectations of AI in healthcare. One common point was that AI could ease the burden of health care procedures both for health care practitioners and for patients.

We will continue this discussion by organizing ideas presented at the last meeting thematically in the next meeting.
